A Family Tradition:

The Burry family has been in the confectionary and bakery business since the 1880's, including Elizabeth, NJ based Burry Buscuitt and Plainfield, NJ based Helen Elliott's Chocolates.

After immigrating from Canada to New Jersey, Allen Burry began working in his uncle's chocolate business at age 15. He quickly developed a love for the trade. After meeting and marrying Anna Blackford, the two moved to Delaware to cofound their first chocolate shop.

After their time in Delaware the two moved back to New Jersey. In 1961 he began making fudge in a location on 202 in Flemington, NJ. After relocating three times Allen purchased the current building.

Allen and Anna have since been joined by their children, grand children and extended family members in this work.  The Fudge Shoppe continues to expand and improve.  We look forward to contine to provide you with delicious candies.
